In the southwest of Potsdam, the capital of Brandenburg, the Hermannswerder peninsula stretches for about 2 km. Nestled in the Potsdam Forest and Havel Lakes Landscape Conservation Area and surrounded by Lake Templin, it is a preferred residential area of Potsdam and forms part of the Templin suburb.
Hermannswerder is home to various historic and modern buildings in a quiet and peaceful setting. The estate itself is located in a traffic-calmed residential street that ends in a cul-de-sac. The wooded south-eastern area of the peninsula, which covers approx. 40 hectares, includes the island hotel and buildings of the Protestant Hoffbauer Foundation with a grammar school. The north-eastern area, the headlands of Tornow and Küssel, has been characterised since the 1920s by high-quality residential development with villas and detached houses. The island is directly connected to Potsdam's city centre via the lakeside path for pedestrians and cyclists, the passenger ferry to the Potsdam West district, and bus line 694 to the main railway station with all connections. By car, you can reach the motorway to Berlin or Magdeburg in about 15 minutes. All necessary infrastructural facilities such as shopping facilities, kindergartens, international schools, doctors etc. are nearby.
* approx. 3 km to Potsdam main station
* approx. 28 km to Kurfürstendamm in Berlin (approx. 30 minutes by car)
* approx. 45 km to BER airport (approx. 40 minutes by car)
